Hello,

Would anyone else be interested in participating in a FRIENDLY PVP ALLIANCE COMPETITION?
The Idea.

I know there are one or two other players in the alliance that would like to get some more pvp action and so this might be an excellent way to promote gvg and/or ha.  At the least I feel it would be an excellent way to introduce gvg to many players that might not otherwise get the chance to experience this side of guild wars.

The Players

Depending on numbers each guild will enter 1 team of 8 into either a league or most probably a knock out cup competition.  Any guild that cannot field 8 humans, like [sup] will be able to use heroes or henchmen at there discretion and would be happy to take on human players from other guilds if that be the case.  Players from guild outside the alliance cannot play.

The Prize

It's a winner takes all competition and the prizes should be donated by each human player.  the prize does not have to be amazing or cheap, whatever you feel you would like to donate, i suggest a green or a rare material of some form so we get a half decent jack-pot going.

Fixtures.

This would be a fixture competition and guilds will be expected to play within a time period of a week, failure for either team to decide a date will result in a fixed date, and failure to show will result in disqualification.

The Key to success.

This is an introduction into pvp however, bad form will not be tolerated and the alliance rules apply.  This should be a friendly and fun introduction to gvg.

Hopefully it makes sense, the rules can be worked on when we get an idea about numbers.  Have a think, i hope you all fancy it.

Sounds good to me, I'd like some more PvP, it's probably all this alliance is missing to really complete it imo.

I will definitely be up for it when I get a new PC (hopefully next couple of weeks) cos my current one's too unreliable for anything apart from mostly casual PvE

If we could get 4 or even 8 of the 10 alliance guilds playing that would be great fun!  The main thing is that people see this as an introduction into gvg so all types of players can compete.  Those who want to test it out and those who want a military training schedule.

Lets see who else is interested and look for a starting date for the new year.

Ehm, in that case I think a KO system isn't good I think. For some guilds have more good competitive players than others. In a KO system, the guilds with less or less experienced players wouldn't last for more than 1 round, which isn't a decent learning experience...
Just mentioning

There is no ranking system, no no no.

With every guild in the alliance producing a team the only way it can work is with a knock out system, it's quick and easy and short lived.  If it is successful we can simply have another cup.

8 teams, 1 game a week, 4 weeks, or
5 teams, 1 game a week, 4 weeks or
2 teams 1 game 1 week.

[sup] has 4 member's and we don't mind going out in the first round.

The idea is to get people playing pvp, atm people with less or no experience will get some, which is always a better learning experience than non or little.  :P

Out of curiosity, what's your plan for [sup]?
Being really particular with your member recruitment?
I'm just wondering why you'd leave [KoDR] (was it?) for a 4 member guild?

On topic.. I like the idea of more PvP

As strange as it may seem I did not leave [KoDR] with the expressed intention of joining [sup,] neither do I know how long I will be involved with their current or future plans.
At present I cannot divulge any of the [sup] ideas for the future or comment on their present recruitment policy.
Furthermore, the people that know me best in this game will know who/what/where/when and why I do what I do and therefore will be able to conclude without a shadow of a doubt why I could not continue within my line of game play while being a member of [KoDR]

Now that that  has been made clear, I'm glad you like the idea of PvP    I think we need a guild sign up page and a penciled in date for January.

Wow, very secretive. Not being one of the people who knows why you do things I can't tell if you're being serious or not lol but OK I only asked cos I was curious.

here you go i did your work xD :
ROUND 1 :

KoDR VS DRK= KoDR WINS!

EVSW VS SUP= SUP WINS!

PCS VS SoR= SoR WINS!

DaRK VS TSO= DaRK WINS!

BONE VS UTA = UTA WINS!

ROUND 2:

KoDR VS SUP = SUP WINS

SUP VS DRK = DRK WINS*

DaRK VS UTA = UTA WINS
*= becuase there are not enough guilds, the first guild to lose, gets an other chance in the second round so every guild would have to fight

ROUND 3 :

in this round the left over 3 guilds(SUP,DRK and UTA) will fight eachother, the guild with the most wins wins. when there is a draw, the guild with draw fight eachother, who wins then is the winner of the sup cup

if there is allready in the beginning not enough guilds
we will have to let one guild skip a round(sadly enough) or we do it like in round 3, the guild with most wins....wins

Something like this, to avoid people missing games I think we need a guild enter forum, then we'll have the numbers.

Great idea Karak. If you want to make use of the prize fund rather than taking donations, I'm happy to do that. Either situation sounds fine to me. Is the idea a knock-out tournament, world cup style, or a league system?
A league system would take a little more planning and organisation, but it would certainly allow for those with little to no PvP experience to get more. As for a start date, I would suggest the second week in January (i.e. Monday the 7th) but this is mostly because I want to play and won't really be able to until then. If anyone from KoDR is planning on getting a team together, count me in.

Clan sign up is now up so pop down your clan name and team leader, we only need 1 person per team to sign up.
As for a start date I'm looking at
Monday the 21st January for Week 1
Then;
Monday the 28th January Week 2
Monday the 4th February Week 3
Monday the 11th February Week 4 (Final)  All done by Sunday 17th February.
