Lol, you thought that one was sad, just get ready for this one... I'm not completely happy with it, but... uh... with such a sad part, what can I say. I need a reason for him to kick the God of Death's butt though- so here it is. Kodiac: Revelations About 18 years has passed since the end of Origins. Kodiac lifted Ares into the air, the baby kicking wildly. He laughed quietly. Kael put her arm around Kodiac, and smiled. “You once tried to kill me, Kodi,” Kael said to him, her lips brushing against his. “I’ve tried to kill a lot of people. You know that. Not to mention, it’s romantic.” Kodiac pulled away from her, smiling, and lifted off his hood, the feathers of old Induin rustling together. He lowered Ares into Kael’s arms, the baby squirming. She looked at him. “It was different back then.” “How so?” Kodiac replied. “You were. . . bloodthirsty.” Kodiac looked away, fingering his right glove in his left hand. “I, Kael, was a Norn.” She looked into his eyes. “You seem troubled by it. . .? “I grew up a Norn. My true father and mother can roast with Abaddon for all I care. The Norn are my true family. And you.” “Me?” “You.” Kodiac broke eye contact with her, and walked into the sun outside. Kael followed him, while Ares kicked frantically, but not unhappily. Kodiac picked up a branch, and plucked it of its smaller shoots off it. He swung it like a sword, overhand- side- feign left- jab- and ended with the twig igniting in purple fire. Kodiac dropped it and fell to his knees. “Kodia-” Kael began, her hands still glowing with the purple flames that had conjured the fiery substance on Kodiac. “Stop- let it be.” Kodiac interrupted. He stared at his palms, then looked up into the shining face of the moon. “Look, you might think it was easy growing up in Vabbi, with all their riches. But at least with the Norn, you had a family!” Kodiac stared curiously over his shoulder at her and sighed. Kael ran into the hut he had built himself. “Leave it be. . .? Grr. . . what am I?” He whispered to the stars. Kodiac stood up and walked into the woods, trudging forward through the brisk air until he got to a small clearing of trees. “I will leave it be. . . she deserves at least that. A good nights sleep to herself.” He thought to himself. The last thing he saw as he closed his eyes was the stars, Canus Major lumbering through the skys. . . Kodiac jolted awake, gripping his knife tightly. His face was warm. As he opened his eyes, he saw flickering deep blue and red flames eating the trees around the clearing. “By Abaddon. . .” He muttered below his breath. He jumped to his feet, running before he even hit the ground towards his hut. Kael’s hut! He could see even before he could tell it was a house, that the hut was almost completely in flames. He threw up his hood and dove into the hut, through the hallway, into the bedroom- CRASH! “By the gods. . .” The roof collapsed behind him, blocking the doorway. The bed was in shambles, but Kael lay by its edge, laying oddly, her arm was obviously popped out of the joint or something. He scooped her up into his arms, and draped her over his right shoulder, then tore through the nearby wall to get Ares. He lay in his small bed, fine, but wailing out of fright. Kodiac scooped him up to, and careened through the outermost wall to the forest, and the world went blank. He awoke in the morning, his robes blackened slightly. He clambered onto his hands and knees, and looked at Ares, the baby lay facedown, unmoving. He then looked at Kael- she was quiet as well. Kodiac scrambled to Ares- indeed, the small boy didn’t get the chance to be a hero like Kodiac had. He was unmoving. He then slumped to Kael. She was just as quiet as Ares had been. He looked up at the moon, who, the previous night, provided comfort. Now it was just a false hope. Kodiac growled and tore a shrub out of the ground, throwing it away into the black remains of his hut. Far off in the woods, a bear stood surrounded by seven wolves. This time, it did not fight them off. It became overwhelmed and crumpled to the ground as the wolves tore it into pieces, as well as its two small cubs. --Last edited by Kodiac of the Blade on 2008-02-02 05:20:47 --

I don't! Take this one for example, hopefully the last in my writing. For um... tonight atleast, hahaha. Kodiac: Retribution Kodiac smiled gravely to himself as he trudged through the Entrance Gate of the Chantry of Secrets. He drew his sword, and held it down at his side. The statues of the five gods shimmered in the daylight sun- Balthazar, Lyssa, Melandru, Grenth and Dwayna. His feud today was with all the gods, but Grenth in particular. He walked to the gigantic statue of Grenth, the hands and arms of lost souls reaching up to grab Grenth, and his odd beard running down his shoulders. Kodiac’s sword glittered as flame lit down it- then it lopped off the hands of the soul that was closest to Grenth. A whisp of darkness swept from the statue as the Avatar assigned to this one in particular. It looked like a reaper almost, dark hood covering all of its features, although two dark eyes could be vaguely seen. “MORTAL! Why do you insult Grenth, the lord of death and ice.” “Spirit? Have you ever died?!” Kodiac demanded from it. “Um. . . no, but that’s not the point!” The Avatar fiddled with its dark robes nervously. “Well, guess what? I DID WHEN YOUR MASTER WIPED MY FAMILY FROM THE FACE OF THE EARTH!!” Kodiac jabbed his sword into the darkest part of the specters hood. It imploded with a “woosh” noise. “Grenth! I demand entrance!” A wall of ice was erected around Kodiac even as he spoke. Then it melted, revealing a thin path of ice leading to a throne. Around this path there was only abyss. A great darkness. On the throne sat the God of Death himself looking at an ice statue of himself as three Heket ran wildly around it trying to chisel the finer details as Grenth barked orders to them. Kodiac approached Grenth. “Bow Mortal!” Grenth looked down at Kodiac and laughed. “I only bow to those I respect and look up to above all others. I haven’t bowed to anyone in over 15 years.” “Ah, then today is your first.” Grenth chuckled. He pointed towards the floor. Kodiac started to go into a bowing position, then flicked his sword out of his sheath and charged up Grenth’s throne, landing on his lap- sword pressing against the God of Death’s neck. “Mortal. You are obviously either very foolish or very desperate.” “Well then, why don’t I kill you now.” Kodiac replied. “Are you sure Gods can die? Surely not the God of DEATH!” “Let’s test it then.” “Mortal. What is it that vexes you?” “You WILL send Kael and Ares back to the mortal-realm. And you’ll do it now.” “Mortals, you are all weak, aren’t you? You love. That is your downfall. But so be it, it is done. Kodiac, son of the Norn, you will die because of your infatuation ONE day. I swear it.” “Only when your realm burns over.” Kodiac’s eyes said it all, they shone brightly and humor played in them. The wall of ice came around him again, transporting him back to Istan. Kamadan stood as a usual day, the Market going on normally. Kael stood by a street performer holding Ares close to her. Kodiac ran to them, and scooped Kael up in his broad arms. Indeed- heart of the Norn. --Last edited by Kodiac of the Blade on 2008-02-02 06:38:48 --
