Karak Null.
Born 1563 CC, not much is known about Karak Null’s upbringing. In time he became a master of all magic disciplines and multiple battle strategies, but this is another story told better by those who knew him.  

In profile he was a tall, striking, and a well-dressed figure who hid his pain deep inside him.  He spent much of his youth moving from town to town, without purpose or direction, killing anyone or anything that crossed him.  A nomad, without ties or rules, making a cheap buck or two wherever he could.  The only cure he could find for his pain was temporary, at the bottom of a bottle or from the death of a foe.

In battle he was fearless, his eyes glazed over, cold, remorseless. His very presence would fill his foes with fear.  However, it wasn’t until he joined KoDR that he found a reason.  This was strange for him, feelings he had never felt before, purpose, direction, belonging.

Although he was happy, his pain was always present.  He knew in his heart that one day the time would come when he would have to leave, forever.  On a spring morning unlike any other, a cold unworldly mist fell upon the ‘Isle of the Dead.’  Karak’s time had come to pass.  He packed up a small amount of supplies for his trip, changed his name (for fear of reprisal from his past) and silently made for the mainland, never to be seen again.

There where many rumours of where he went and how he died.  Some said he was killed in the Echovald Forest, fighting off six Juggernauts, the last one falling on him.  Other’s said he led a small team to chart the unexplored areas of the Jade Sea in the search of loot, never to be seen again.  There was even a rumour him and The Fisherking went down to the KoDR boarder and got shot down like Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid.  (Karak being Butch Cassidy)

The truth is Karak Null was changed by the love of a good woman.  There was no need to fight anymore.  He laid down his staff and married Miss Rebecca Feathers.  They where wed in Minister Cho’s Estate and raised a family in the small village located in the North of Jaya Bluff’s.  For a time they found happiness within each other, on their pig farm, by the coast.  Karak Null gave up the booze and for the first time found peace inside.  





Will Karak Null return?  

Some say they see him from time to time, when all hope is gone he appears as a Pale Rider, on his ghostly steed, to help out before vanishing without trace.

Myself I’m not so sure, but what I do know is this:

When all hope is gone; when the storm clouds gather overhead and you feel like you can’t go on; look to Karak’s second coming.

Some years later, Mrs. Ansonia Feathers made the arduous journey to Jaya Bluff’s, to visit the last resting place of her only daughter. Karak Null had long since disappeared with the children... some said to Kryta where it was rumoured he prospered in dry goods. And there was nothing on the marker to explain to Mrs. Feathers why her only daughter had married a known thief and murderer, a man of notoriously vicious and intemperate disposition.” – Written in, Unforgiven, 1602 cc.
