The origin of Dark Magician Josh

Many years ago, before the searing of Ascalon, there lived a ranger. He was a powerful ranger, skilled in marksmanship and beast mastery. His pet Vilorus was the strongest wolf around. Vilorus was trained by the ranger's father and was passed down to him when he became a teenater. The young ranger and Vilorus were pretty much best friends. Together they wiped out most of the grawls in Lakeside Country, scared the crap out of Cynn, and explored the Catacombs. The ranger's mother was a skilled monk. She was a great help during the Guild Wars. The ranger was very close to his mother. She healed him when he was injured by the Grawls and after Cynn torched him for scaring her. Soon, life as the ranger knew it was about to end. The Charr threat grew. Late one night, a group of Charr breached through the Great Wall. The gate guards were killed. After entering the village, the group of Charr chose the first victim: a small hut by the river. The whole hut was soon blasted apart. The next morning, the ranger headed home after hunting. He saw smoke from the village. He decided it must be from the fires cooking breakfast. He got closer, and Vilorus began howling like crazy. Then Vilorus ran off. The ranger knew something must have been wrong. He ran after Vilorus. The ranger arrived several minutes after Vilorus and found blood in the grass. It was fresh. Several more meters farther found Vilorus; mangled body. Blood was all over the wolf's elegant coat of fur, near a couple of arrows jabbed into the wolf. The ranger sat there, and began to cry. He was soon inturrupted by an arrow whizzing by his head. He looked up and saw a Charr that was left over from the raid party. He began to chase after the foul beast. The Charr led the ranger to a burning hut, the ranger's hut. The ranger, forgetting all about the Charr, ran inside the burning hut. Scattered around the hut was the corpses of his parents. Rage and sadness welled up inside the Ranger, lighting a fire within his heart. He ran outside, saw the Charr, and blasted it with a fireball. From then on, he vowed to destroy all evil, all evil would soon fear his name, for it was Josh. He vowed to no longer be a ranger, for he was now an elementalist. Everyone still asleep was soon awoken by a yell: "DEATH TO ALL WHO OPPOSE ME!!!"
